Minutes. An inflatable shelter can be standing in a couple of minutes with one person and a blower; a folding-frame shelter goes up in minutes with one or two trained people and no power. The figure that matters is consistent speed — the same drill, every call-out.
Frame or inflatable — which is better for emergency use?
Neither is better; they suit different jobs. Inflatable wins on raw speed and the smallest pack size — and because we run the blowers off our own Instagrid battery units, it is mains-independent, with no generator to find at the scene. Frame wins on zero power dependency and part-by-part repairability. Both are fully modular, and most fleets carry both. Temporium supplies both and matches the format to the role.
Can the shelters be linked together or partitioned?
Yes — every Temporium shelter, frame and inflatable, is modular: connect units into a continuous run for shelter at scale, expand as the incident grows, and divide a single structure into separate zones (triage, command, welfare) without pitching more tents.
What wind rating does an emergency shelter need?
It depends on exposure and anchoring, but the structure should be rated in mph to BS EN 13782, with the anchoring assumptions stated (ballast or stakes). The heavier frames carry higher ratings; the supplier should give you the number for the exact model.
Are emergency response tents fire-rated for public use?
The fabric should carry a reaction-to-fire classification to BS EN 13501-1, with the certificate supplied for the exact model. For any structure the public shelters under, that classification is a licensing requirement.
