What it means

EN 13501-1:2018 Class B

Fire reaction classification · Named body on certificate

EN 13501-1 is the European standard classifying how construction products, including some tent canopy materials, react to fire. Check the certificate scope, date, issuing body, product model, and fabric reference before relying on it for an event licence or procurement file.

EN 13782:2005

Structural safety, temporary structures · Named body on certificate

EN 13782:2005 relates to structural safety for temporary structures, including design loads, fabrication, erection, and maintenance. The useful procurement evidence is the actual certificate and the exact product scope it covers.

Wind Load Documentation

Wind resistance documentation · Named body on certificate

Wind documentation must be read with the anchoring method, ground condition, exposure, model, and site management assumptions. Ask for the current report before specifying any structure for exposed conditions.

BS 7837

UK fire retardancy standard · Named body on certificate

BS 7837 is a British Standard for fire retardancy of tent and marquee fabrics. Ask for the current document and check whether it applies to the exact fabric and product being quoted.

CTS Certification

French national product safety standard · CTS

CTS is a French product safety framework for temporary structures and tent equipment. Where relevant, the document should be checked alongside UK and European procurement requirements.

CE Declaration of Conformity

EU product conformity · Rex Nordic

CE declarations should be checked against the exact model being supplied. We can include the relevant declaration in the procurement pack where it applies.

UKCA Declaration of Conformity

UK product conformity (post-Brexit) · Rex Nordic

UKCA declarations should be checked against the exact model being supplied. We can include the relevant declaration in the procurement pack where it applies.

Common questions

Certification FAQ

What is BS EN 13782?

The European standard for the structural and wind design of temporary tents and structures — design loads, fabrication, erection and maintenance. A compliant supplier states the maximum gust speed the structure is rated to and the anchoring it assumes.

Are the structures fire-rated?

The canopy fabrics carry a reaction-to-fire classification to EN 13501-1 (and BS 7837 where it applies). The certificate is supplied for the exact model and fabric quoted, not a generic statement.

What certification do I need for a public event?

For any structure the public stands under, structural and wind certification (EN 13782) and fire classification (EN 13501-1) are a licensing matter. We supply the evidence so you do not have to chase it.

What documentation do you provide for procurement?

Fire and structural/wind certification, technical sheets, care guidance, CE/UKCA declarations where applicable, plus our insurance, Companies House and VAT details — the full pack, matched to the specification quoted.

Do you supply certification for the exact model?

Yes. Every certificate is checked against the exact product model, fabric and anchoring being quoted — read each document against the final specification before purchase.
