Transporting and storing a professional gazebo between events

Most of the wear a gazebo takes happens off the pitch — in the van, on the trolley, in the store. Handle the transport and storage well and the frame and cover stay in service long after cheaper kit has buckled or frayed.

Moving it without fighting it

A wheel set slides onto the footplates of the Alu45, CO, XP and ZP and turns a two-person carry into a push. The wheels also help the frame "walk" open — less friction at the feet means it expands with less force, which protects the joints. They are for hard standing and setup only: once the structure is positioned it sits on its footplates and is anchored to reach its rating.

Protecting the cover in transit

Damage usually happens in handling, not in use. A transport bag with a reinforced base buffers the knocks and vibration of a van. Store the cover in its own bag rather than leaving it loose on the frame — that keeps the fabric, PVC or polyester, from being pinched or chafed by the frame edges on the move.

Storing it so it lasts

Never store a gazebo damp. Moisture trapped in the folds turns to mildew, which stains and weakens the fabric — dry it fully first. Keep it somewhere dry and temperate, off the floor to avoid rising damp, and store a frame flat or securely tethered; a loose aluminium leg is a hazard to the floor and the staff. Wipe grit, mud and salt off the frame with a damp cloth and skip abrasives that would score the hard-anodised finish.

Common questions

FAQ

Can the wheels stay on while it is pitched?

No — the wheels are for moving and setting up. Pitched, it sits on its footplates and is anchored to meet its 60mph rating (40mph for the Alu45).

Do the wheels work on grass?

They're for hard surfaces — tarmac, concrete, venue floors. On soft turf they sink; move the frame by trolley or lift instead.

How do I prep the frame for long storage?

Wipe it down to clear grit and salt, make sure it is completely dry, and bag it. The repairable, buy-once design means a worn part is replaced, not the whole structure.
