Heating a pop-up gazebo or temporary structure — sizing warmth to the space

Heating a pop-up gazebo or temporary structure
Heat turns a summer shelter into a structure that earns its keep through the cold months. The trick is to warm the people, not the whole uninsulated air volume — which is why infrared, directed at the occupants, does more with less.

Mounting the heat to the frame
A proper heating kit clamps to the gazebo's leg rather than standing on the floor. A bracket fixes the infrared unit at a safe height, clear of guests, with an adjustable tilt so the heat lands on the seating or the workstation that needs it. Cables run along the frame on the integrated straps, so nothing crosses a walkway. It's the difference between a heated space and a trip hazard with a warm glow.
Sizing the heat to the structure
How much heat depends on the footprint and how enclosed it is. A small structure in moderate conditions may need a single unit; a larger ZP or GP footprint wants units spread across the corners for even coverage. Because infrared warms people and objects directly, it keeps working even with a wall or two open — useful for a stand that has to stay welcoming rather than sealed.
When you need more than electric
For larger or colder jobs, electric units run out of road. That's where the Rex Nordic Airrex range comes in — diesel infrared heaters built for high output in temporary buildings, low odour, and supplied with verifiable CE documentation and emission figures. The exact output, model and ventilation requirement are confirmed on the spec sheet for the space you're heating. Pair them with Instagrid battery power where mains is awkward and the heat runs clean and quiet, off-grid.
Common questions
FAQ
Will a heater clamp to my frame?
The bracket clamps to the flat face of the aluminium leg and fits across the ranges. Send us the frame and we'll confirm the right kit.
Is it safe to run heaters unattended?
Run them while the site is supervised. For overnight frost protection, use the timer and monitoring options on the Rex Nordic units rather than leaving an unmonitored heater running.
Do I need a special power supply?
A single small electric heater runs from a standard 13A socket; several units, or a diesel setup, need a proper power plan — which we size with you, including Instagrid battery options where there is no mains.
